Description

Large Japanese Imari porcelain decagonal faceted covered jar with mascaron handles and unusual scaled and winged composite mythical beast finial, late Edo to early Meiji period, Arita, richly decorated in under glaze cobalt blue, iron red, green and gilt within the various panels, unmarked, on an associated fine hardwood stand.

Condition: Excellent, minor wear

Material: Porcelain

Period: Circa 1860-1880
