He was born in Vienna and immigrated to Mexico City in 1909, then moved to San Antonio in 1911 and founded the San Antonio School of Fine Painting in 1919.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eHe lived afterward in Houston and settled in Dallas in 1921.\u003cspan class=\"Apple-converted-space\"\u003e  \u003c\/span\u003eThere he painted for one year under the name Frank Horst.
